Job Requirements      

  • Grade 12 (Essential),
  • Degree in Commerce or Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ purchasing experience in Automotive Manufacturing industry.
  • 2+ years’ experience as Purchasing Manager.
  • Previous working experience with SYSPRO (ERP Systems).

 

Basic Function: 

Oversee the Purchasing function and being accountable for:

  • Procuring goods and services at the best price that meet both quantity and quality requirements within set Purchasing standards and procedures.
  • Reducing procurement costs by implementing sourcing and cost-reduction strategies that also meet BBBEE targets.
  • Implementing and deploying supplier selection, planning and ordering systems and processes.
  • Managing localisation and cost-saving strategies in line with Customer targets

 

Responsibilities                                                                                                                                                       

Supplier Management & Monitoring

  • Review, negotiate and approve price increase requests within the Company’s Purchasing policy and Customer requirements.
  • Upload and manage approved pricing on Syspro ERP.
  • Coordinate and approve Supplier price variances with Finance in line with Purchasing policy.
  • Issue Supplier Performance Scorecards and coordinate necessary corrective actions.
  • Prepare and conduct supplier development projects for both cost and quality.

 

Supplier Selection

  • Source and benchmark prices of local suppliers for current and new projects.
  • Manage the supplier selection and take-on process which includes the review and coordination of contractual commercial and quality agreements.

 

Material Planning & Import Logistics

  • Submit and review stock codes for current and new business in line Bill of Material requirements for Syspro ERP.
  • Prepare and review import logistics budget vs actual for both freight and duties.
  • Review and approve import invoices in line with tariff libraries to ensure customs compliance.
  • Approve clearing instructions with freight forwarding agents.

 

People Management

  • Build a high performing team in line with the Ramsay – People Journey philosophy.
  • Drive the Ramsay business culture.

 

Technical skills and specialist knowledge

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills (Critical)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Strong customer / supplier interface skills.
  • Management and financial management knowledge.
  • Technical knowledge of automotive components will be an advantage.
